1. Why you received a verification request
A Shopify merchant using MaxVFY may send you a secure link because the merchant wants an identity-verification result for a transaction, return, marketplace interaction, account-related matter, or other legitimate business purpose. MaxVFY provides the request workflow and status tracking. The requesting merchant decides whether to send the request and how to use the result, subject to applicable law and the merchant's own obligations.
2. Who provides the verification technology
The hosted identity-verification flow is powered by Didit, the verification technology provider. Didit processes the verification materials and related technical data needed to perform the configured checks. This disclosure is provided to identify the technology provider; MaxVFY does not endorse or advertise unrelated Didit products or services.
3. Information that may be processed in the hosted verification flow
Depending on the configured verification checks, the hosted flow may ask for or generate information such as:
- identity-document images and document data;
- a selfie, face image, short video, or liveness capture;
- biometric-derived information used for face matching, liveness, or anti-spoofing;
- device, browser, IP/network, location, and security or anti-fraud telemetry;
- verification results, risk signals, review status, and audit information; and
- other information specifically shown to you in the hosted verification flow.
Not every verification uses every category listed above.
4. What MaxVFY receives
MaxVFY is configured to receive and retain only the information needed to operate the request workflow: a request/session identifier, request activity and timestamps, provider status, verification outcome, and related audit/billing state. The MaxVFY Shopify merchant dashboard is not designed to display or store copies of identity documents, selfies, liveness videos, biometric templates, document numbers, or extracted identity-document data.
5. Biometric and face-related processing
If the configured verification uses a selfie, liveness check, face match, or similar technology, face-related and biometric-derived information may be processed within the hosted verification flow for identity verification, liveness, anti-spoofing, fraud prevention, security, and related verification purposes. MaxVFY does not independently create or maintain a biometric-identification database for merchants.
Where applicable law requires affirmative consent before biometric processing, you should be presented with a consent or continuation control before the relevant capture occurs. If you do not agree, do not continue the verification. A merchant may be unable to proceed with the transaction or requested action without a successful verification result, depending on the merchant's own policies and applicable law.
6. Provider legal notices
The following links are provided because they govern the hosted verification technology and the verification data handled within that flow:
These are legal-reference links, not promotional links. They may change or be updated by the provider independently of MaxVFY.
7. Your choices and responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the MaxVFY verification-request workflow.
- Submit only your own information and documents, unless you are legally authorized to act for another person.
- Do not upload forged, altered, stolen, or misleading documents or attempt to bypass liveness, security, or anti-fraud controls.
- You may choose not to continue. The requesting merchant determines what consequence, if any, follows from an incomplete verification.
8. Verification outcomes
A result may be successful, unsuccessful, pending/in review, expired, cancelled, or otherwise incomplete depending on the verification flow and circumstances. MaxVFY reports the available status to the requesting merchant. MaxVFY does not guarantee that any verification will be approved, completed, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Merchants should not treat a MaxVFY result as the sole basis for any decision where applicable law requires independent review, notice, consent, an adverse-action process, or another legally mandated procedure.
9. Retention and privacy requests
MaxVFY retains limited request/status/audit records as described in our Privacy Policy. Retention of identity-document, selfie, liveness, biometric-related, and verification telemetry inside the hosted verification environment is governed by the provider's applicable legal notices, configuration, and legal obligations.
For a request relating to a MaxVFY verification, start with MaxVFY Support. We may need the MaxVFY request ID or other limited information to locate the request. Where appropriate, we will coordinate or direct the request in accordance with the relevant verification-provider process and applicable law.
